With over 27 years of teaching experience in the Dover area, Dover Guitar Teacher offers a relaxed, no-pressure way to learn guitar — whether you’re a total beginner, picking it up again after years, or just looking to improve.
Founded by a self-taught guitarist who began playing at 13, I’ve performed in countless bands, worked in one of Dover’s top schools, and even gigged across Europe in France and Holland. Many of my students have gone on to perform, study music further, or become teachers themselves.
All lessons are tailored to your goals — whether that’s learning chords, playing your favourite songs, improving technique, or understanding theory in a practical, useful way.
No stress. No need to read music. Just proper, focused progress in a supportive setting.
And yes — I hold an enhanced DBS certificate for peace of mind.
My Mission
My mission is simple: to make learning guitar enjoyable, accessible, and genuinely useful — no matter your age or experience level. I believe music should never feel intimidating or out of reach. Whether you're strumming your first chord or tackling advanced techniques, my job is to help you feel confident and capable at every step.
I aim to remove the usual stress that comes with traditional music lessons. That means no unnecessary pressure, no stiff formalities — just real, focused progress, delivered in a way that suits your learning style. Everyone learns differently, so every lesson is shaped around you.
This is about more than teaching guitar — it’s about building musical independence, and giving you the tools to enjoy music on your own terms.
Passion
Teaching guitar is more than just a job — it’s something I genuinely love. There’s nothing better than seeing someone pick up the instrument for the first time and discover what they’re capable of. Whether you’re here to relax, express yourself, or finally learn that one song you’ve always wanted to play — I’m here for it.
Over the years, I’ve worked with children, teens, adults and retirees, and every one of them had a different reason for learning. What unites them all is a desire to enjoy music and feel good doing it. That’s what drives my teaching.
I bring that same energy and care to every lesson, making sure you walk away feeling encouraged, challenged (in a good way), and excited to play again next time.
